Project Charter

OIR exists to build a comprehensive, independently verifiable reference for internet architecture, distributed systems, peer-to-peer networking, cryptography, open source software, privacy, constitutional law, internet governance, and digital rights.

How it is made: Human-directed, AI-processed, source-bound. Humans prioritize and merge into a draft corpus, and periodically deep-audit a verified core. AI does most drafting and mechanical QA. Cited sources are the authority for facts.

Axona may be documented as a case study, but OIR is intended to stand on its own as a public knowledge project.

Principles

  • Accuracy comes first.
  • Every significant factual claim should be independently verifiable via cited sources.
  • Primary sources are preferred.
  • Prefer facts and citations over interpretation; keep analysis and commentary distinct.
  • Unsupported claims must be marked as unverified or research debt.
  • Unsourced AI output is not evidence; AI drafts start as draft.
  • Merge accepts work into the draft corpus — it is not full verification.
  • Generated artifacts are never manually edited.
